Castle of the Mazovian Dukes in Rawa Mazowiecka
Niwna is located in the north-eastern part of the Lodzkie Voivodeship on the Łowicko-Błońska Plain. It is only a few minutes from Rawa Mazowiecka, where the ruins of the Mazovian princes’ castle are located. Although only a part of the building survived to this day, it is worth seeing the remains of a Gothic fortress from the Middle Ages. The castle itself played once a defensive function, and later became the seat of the Rawskie Principality. During the summer time you can visit the reconstructed tower and watch the exhibits found during archaeological excavations carried out on the ruins.

„Tatar” lagoon
A worthy recommendation is the artificial lagoon called “Tatar”, created in the 1980s. It is part of the Complex of Sport and Recreation Center in Rawa Mazowiecka and is divided into two parts. One of them is a nature reserve of 18 hectares, and the other part – 55 hectares are fully recreational and can be used by the locals and tourists coming to the city. Kayaking, canoeing and water biking are at the guests’ disposal, as well as a guarded swimming pool with a nearby beach. Forested area of the reservoir encourages walking or cycling in the open air. The “Tatar” lagoon is an ideal place to spend time not only during the summer season.

Narrow-gauge railway of Rogów – Rawa – Biała
An interesting attraction in Rawa Mazowiecka is the narrow gauge railway linking Rogów with Rawa Mazowiecka and Białka Rawska. Created by the German army the railway initially served at the means of transport for wounded and to supply soldiers in food, weapons or ammunition. After the end of World War I the railway served many years for PKP. Today is a valuable railway monument and the only narrow gauge railway in the Lodz province. The rolling stock includes locomotives and motor coaches, freight wagons and special vehicles such as snow plows and draisines.

Arboretum in Rogów
Spending time in nature can be interesting in Arboretum, which is located in Rogów next to Brzeziny town.
